JOHNSTONS CHART ANOTHER SUCCESS (November 2010)

In September 2010, at the official launch of James Fisher Nuclear Services (JFNS) new facility, Johnstons were praised by their client for "their hard work and dedication".   

JFNS had appointed Johnstons to provide Quantity Surveying and CDM Co-ordinator services during the construction of their Rig Hall at Egremont, representing an investment of over £2m by the Company. Working closely with the client team, Johnstons significantly contributed to delivery of the project under budget and ahead of schedule. More... 

 MAJOR INVESTMENT IN WEST CUMBRIA BY LOCAL COMPANY (January 2010)

West Cumbrian based James Fisher Nuclear Services (JFNS) has initiated a major project to significantly expand its engineering systems trials and testing capability in West Cumbria. 

The project will include the build of a rig hall of nearly 1,000 square metres, 21m high with a 20 tonne overhead travelling crane, together with 600 square metres of office space.

The Construction Manager for the project is West Cumbria Consulting Ltd and Johnstons have been appointed as Quantity Surveyors and CDM Co-ordinators.  The contract with Kier Construction Limited was signed in early January and the facility is expected to be completed by August 2010.

This complex project was undertaken on a very tight timescale to ensure the phased handover of the educational and technical portions of the building in time for the start of the new academic year, with the remaining administrative sections being completed and handed over by the calendar year end:

England's chief dental officer will officially open Cumbria’s new £4 million dental education centre tomorrow.
